Republicans tried to discredit the ACA as "socialized medicine" when in fact it is based on private insurance companies. Now it looks like Americans are becoming more OK with socialized medicine itself. About 74% of Democrats, and over 54% of independents think single-payer government plan is the way to go. The only age cohort that has less than 50% support is 50-65 year olds; majorities within older and younger groups support single-payer. People with some college education but no college degree are the only group by educational attainment where less than 50% support single-payer. Majorities of people with less education and those with more education support single-payer.
