HIGHLIGHTS
The government aims to initially provide 3 programmes — old age pension, life insurance and maternity benefits.
The government plans to pilot the project in six districts.

Things are not looking good for BJP. People are mad at Modi and the opposition is channeling this anger. Modi has to take a humble, semi apologetic tone acknowledging his failures and beg voters to give him 5 more years to finish the things he started and to deliver on what he has failed to deliver. If he does an India shining kind of campaigning, then he will be toast. He will be playing right into the opposition's hands as they have painted him as someone who has not only failed to deliver on his grand promises, but is arrogant to boot touting his accomplishments.

It probably will be hard for any Indian PM to be very effective in changing and improving the things completely, considering due to the  past constitutional entitlements and programs almost one-half the population (OBC, SC and ST) is used to and expects to vote on the basis of caste based quotas / reservations in education and jobs (hiring and promotions) at the expense of merit and almost one-quarter of the population votes to continue the religious laws in the name of "secularism" while abandoning UCC (one law for everyone, irrespective of race, religion, gender and caste).
