Based on her reporting in 2001 forward, Marie Colvin became an well meaning humanitarian intermediary in attempted surrenders that ended in the murder of those surrendering.

She was a witness to how Sri Lanka promised safety of those who surrendered . But Sri Lankan government killed them immediately or tortured and killed them later.
