I don't know any song with the lyrics- "Asayai adukku, Akilam unakku"..

But this well-known hit song- has the lyrics "Asayai thuranthal, Akilam unakku"..

(Not sure if it's the same song you are looking for!)

You are correct.

I follow that part of the song in my daily life by driving a car I bought in 1995. It has 218,000 miles on it. I eat out rarely.

It's a good human values song- to live by! Like many MGR songs used to be (the whole range- respect for the good mother, country, be honest, charitable etc!) Like this one about knowing "SELF"..Very Happy ..
"If you know your true self- you can fight anything on this Earth..whether you are a winner or loser- you keep your head high"..All kidding aside..the songs are great reminders..to live by.

Hmm..have had cars with around 150,000 miles, but not 200,000 +.

Nice to know about the modest lifestyle Sara. Unless one can really afford it, think modest lifestyles are important, imo!
