Telugu a fascinating language
Telugu
To the non-Telugu speaker, especially from Karnataka, Telugu is a fascinating language for two (admittedly insultingly superficial) reasons.
1) The word "come" in Telugu (randi), is very close to a vile word in Kannada. (And indeed one that suggests "come", but in a wildly different way.)
2) What sounds like "I'll rape you" actually translates to "I'll do it tomorrow".
"If you don't come today, randi repu."

Re: Telugu a fascinating language
Randi is certainly the most apt word to say "welcome or aaiye". It's important to realize that this word in telugu ends in a short "e" at the end and not a deergha "ee" as in that word in Hindi that makes you uncomfortable.
