Another high-profile case for the Supreme Court Empty Another high-profile case for the Supreme Court

The court is expected to rule on the ACA this summer, and this week it will hear arguments in the Arizona immigration law case. This law, if upheld, will result in a big increase in the amount of racial profiling that occurs in day-to-day policing. Officers will be allowed by law to stop anybody who is not committing a crime just on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant. In practice, this will happen to anybody who looks to the police like a Mexican -- citizen, legal immigrant, or illegal immigrant. When the law was enacted, there was a boycott movement that got started... companies moved events that were scheduled in the state. I hope the court throws this law out.
