sorry to rain on obama love fest

In some of the other threads there seems to be a never ending praise convention going on.
Obama showed as much courage as mittromney did when he switched to supporting anti abortion crowd. Gay marriage is a dem issue and right wing got as much from it as can over the past few rounds of national elections. Dems calculated min residual vote loss versus gain in some passionate support. Yes. It has some risk. May be more risk than driving to your mall but it was not difficult or earth shattering de ision for obama. If he stuck to his original belief it would have been more surprising.
Stimulus autobailout healthcare are all part of a dems normal political book. Nothing surprising about those things. A realistic approach to cut entitlements for thenlongterm welfare og usa would require courage. He mentions it but does not puzh it.
Marriage is a social arrangement between man and woman. Such families formed the.nucleus of humannsociety. Do not confuse gay union with marriage. It is a political tactic to assign social equilency between gay union and marriage. It is a back door method to gain legal rights using the marriage name.

Think about North Carolina. And repeat the thought process with all major swing states. Obama's coalition consists of Latino and black voters; both groups are on average more opposed to same-sex marriage than the general population. Not at all. It is a matter of equal rights. Religious groups are welcome to have their own definitions of marriage, but the state ought to accord the same rights and privileges to all citizens, regardless of race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Here is Politico on the seven states that Obama risks because of his same-sex marriage stance. The key ones to note are North Carolina, Colorado, Florida and Ohio where this can make the difference in the final analysis.

Right wing canvassed for atlrast 4 plus years that obama sleeps with gay crowd. Other than few residual votes not much will change. Latinos and blacks can separate obama and gay issue just like catholics vote dem despite abortion.
I did not follow thewhole story but this whole change of heart could have been choreographed.

Boehner was a known dead end. Why is he not going to people? Probably it is not going to get.him additional votes. Now doing that is a suicidal risk. Takes tons ofcourage for dem presidential candidate.
