In my view..Ms. Janaki was not a beauty..but, she stood out in a crowd of beautiful stars from her era..was quite "different"..

My fav movies were- "Pudhiya Paravai", a mystery-thriller (Sivaji was a villain-killer)..K. Balachander's "Iru Kodugal"..and of course the great movie-"Uyarntha Manithan" (the video above)..Sivaji and Sowcar as an wealthy older couple in a kind of love-hate relationship with power struggles.

The dialogue in this memorable scene is good..*about the business lies, family lies, lies of politicians..projecting the perfect family image..couple dynamics- good and bad etc.

Did not see any news about her for a long time..until I read your post.
