While there are no takers for federal regulation of assault weapons, there is some positive momentum for an assault weapon bill in California. The problem, of course, is any crazy person who wants an assault weapon can drive over to Nevada or Arizona and get one. But hopefully the effort required for that will deter all but the most determined crazy people.
