OMG! this book takes the reader on a rollar coaster ride. WOW! very interesting read because of the narrative.

read extracts of this book in 'Barbarossa' (link to 'Barbarossa' given in my previous post), but have not read it (except the duel scene) though i own it:

The author Zaitsev's personal duel with a german sniper (recounted in this book) is the basis for the Hollywood movie 'Enemy at the Gates'. A better translation of the duel is to be found in 'Barbarossa'.
