Paper Clips donot kill People; People Kill People.. Empty Paper Clips donot kill People; People Kill People..

Anyone had a chance to listen to NPR last week/Sunday?. There was a discussion/mention on 'PaperClips dont kill People; People Kill People'.

On the debate we have not gone anywhere, I want to continue comparing guns to drugs/pot, abuse of OTC drugs, IEDs or Nucular (For reminding Dubya).

Why cannot we allow people to have drugs/pot(make them available in Walmart), or remove the restrictions on OTC abuse (meth..), IEDs(let the people blow themselves up after all they know how to use them when they buy?) or Someone has a passion for Nuclear science and let us allow them to buy nuke stuff thru online and store at their house? Why they put restrictions/monitor large purchase of checmials or renting trucks after 9/11? After all these things dont kill people, only People Kill people?

Is it bcz the Gun lobby$ has lots of interest and lots of $ in stake or NRA/fanatics wants to hold on to the amendment just bcz it was applicable 200 years ago? May be there is not enough clout or lobby or profits in Drugs/pot or OTC or IED or Nucular or Explosive chemicals?

or Most of the Amrus are dumb enough not to see the danger of Guns despite the traegedies?

Sir, this is a matter of principle. The principle at stake here is the protection of constitutional rights. Everyone knows that governments are bad and untrustworthy. They will snatch away those constitutional rights given half a chance. So if you don't oppose the ban on automatic weapons, the next step will eventually be a ban on regular weapons and poof - your right to bear arms is gone for good.
