spooky. i had a very narrow escape from certain death a few weeks ago. the pyrotechnics of my driver saved us. i haven't told about that incident to anyone. i think my memory conveniently concealed it.

it seems to be getting over *touchwood.* biz. in control -- problem did not flare up. a few options for sil, notably a portable dialysis machine (to buy time). hope it continues like this. *touchwood touchwood touchwood hugwood*

Sad news about Bhatti. He used to put on a great show.

yes bhatti was one of the comedians i respected. in twitter he had started cutting politicians to size with his satire.
yes PP, my driver did a remarkable job. i was in the suicide seat (front seat). my instinct would have been to slam the brakes (big mistake!). an SUV in the left lane and slightly ahead of us had suddenly swerved right to make a U turn through the gap in the separator (on the 4 lane expressway). our speed was ~ 60 km ph. my driver revved up, swung right with him and overtook him by making full use of the gap and swung back left before the gap would close! i turned back and instinctively shouted the choicest expletives at the SUV.
i checked the comments in nats' link and found this:

China is reducing it's fatalities in road accidents while India is increasing year after year.
More than 1.5 lac people died in road accidents in 2011

I saw it on fb of a friend in India the same time as ss posted it. He's the kind who has an instant commentary on all current topics and news.
