he was introduced to politics by Rajiv Gandhi who made him an M.P. subsequently developed differences with the Congress and is now perceived to have a pro BJP tilt.

in his personal life, he is a muslim married to a christian. his grandfather was a hindu. he was unceremoniously thrown out of Editorship of Asian Age newspaper but bounced back by becoming editorial director of India Today group.

This man is M.J. Akbar and his political thinking remains a bit of an enigma at least to me.
