So saddened by the news, I was hoping she would survive.

What does India need to do now? What can I do to help :'(

I feel so sad and speechless. Is there a practical solution to this problem given India's political and cultural circumstances? When I seriously think about how can I help,

1. Don't rape - I don't

2. Stop others who rape - Do you know what happened to the 2 brave selfless boys in Amboli, Mumbai who tried to stop the teasing of one of their female friends? Or that school boy in Mumbai who was battered for standing up for his female friend who was being harassed? And this happened in Mumbai, people elsewhere are even more barbaric.

3. Respect women as equals - I do. My male friends do. But how will this help society as large?

4. Teach others to respect women- I would teach my kids that, but thats about it. I tried to teach my servants, but could not. I told the women servants not to accept beatings from their husbands for instance.

God am so depressed, I want to help I want to fucking DO SOMETHING ABout this FUCKED UP FUCKED UP SITUATION!!!!!

Tell people to not vote for Govt / politicians in next elections only on the basis of a promise / offer of quotas based on caste and religion in education and jobs etc.

Kumarg: Start a petition to the government. Stop the TV Soap producers from producing brutal violence towards women. Most storyline show the controlling, abusive husband, like ISPKKND, Madhubala. Men are brutal. I quit watching serials showing violence towards women. I would suggest that women wear a bottle of mace around their necks for self defense.
