Indian Medical Doctors
.....It is ironical that even after shelling out Rs. 40,000 for admission forms for writing multiple entrance exams, you can get MD/MS seats regardless of your academic performance if you have Rs. 15 crore to Rs. 25 crore."
Of course, they will have to pay their way through their course to pass exams at every step.
Just today I heard the tricks followed in the game of exam passing in Indian undergraduate education. No wonder 85% of them are unemployable - that is only those who get in through merit are half-decent.

Upps: Are these real agents or shenanigans? Does the educational system look the other way in such matters?

Re: Indian Medical Doctors
I have a relative in this country whose father belonged to the Congress party in 1960s. The dad was the chairman of a municipality. The son got into medical college through political pull even though he had average grades. Every year, the dad used to find out who the examiner was, use political pressure and get his son passed.
The son finally made it to England. He was just a junior doctor there. The family lied that he was doing FRCS and got him married to a woman who also a doctor and from a rich family. She found out she was cheated when she arrived in England. The woman still hates him because that.
Both of them made it to America even though my relative had to take the ECFMG exam multiple times to get a decent score.
The irony is he is a specialist doctor here in the States doing very well.
The moral of the story: If you persist, don't give up, you become good atwhat you are doing.

Sound a lot like what Einstein said about insanity.

These are real agents. The govts. outwardly dont want the PVT colleges to charge capitation fees. Those fees, however, have not only increased but a better underground system has been created to collect the monies.
Although may not be in a majority, a SIGNIFICANT amount of docs and engineers pass out thro dubious means - thus polluting the professional pools. After a few years how can anyone separate the rice from the chaff?
