It was yesterday in US and today in India. US is ahead with Moon phases (not again!).

We celebrated yesterday. Used vEpa puvvu from my village for the pacchadi.

Did you ever eat vEpa pandu?

Not the fruit, but I ate ugadi paccadi as a kid - the concoction of neem+honey+tamarind+chili pepper+ something+ something. That is with great difficulty, only a 1/2 spoon of it per year. Smile

Something = mamidi kaaya
Something = cheruku

vEpa pandu (yellow in color, looks like a small rEgi pandu) is actually sweet. Kaakulu eat them regularly. When I was a kid, we used to eat them. The fruit come out during endaakaalam. sitting under the tree for vEpa gaali and eating the pandu was a pleasurable experience. In my village we have lots of Chinta chetlu. Kommalu gattigaa untai. mEmu avvi pattukoni vuugEvaallam. Chettumeeda pandina Chintapandu koodaa baavuntundi.

Oh good. I had excellent mutton biryani with beer for lunch and some absolutely delicious seekh kebabs and mutton boti rolls for dinner. Just to be on the safer side, I had a visu-sadhya today with avial, kaalan, kootu, sambar etc. Cant wait to see the menu for the next 364 days.

I would just interpret it is - you won't go hungry on any day next year, except may be fasting undertaken on your own, if any.

Keep it up and you will not only eat them but also swallow some other stuff regularly! If you move to AP, they have aarogyasree and some other new insurance scheme so that you can even further increase your intake of biryani and kebabs.
