The worst thing is that they don't even mention the criminal behavior in this case: the hit-and-run where the other driver didn't even stop. That is so much the normal behavior of Indian drivers that our news outlets don't even care to mention that. The passersby can at worst be accused of apathy, and they were probably also afraid of getting "involved" in a criminal justice matter. But the fact that the story doesn't even mention what the other driver did is quite telling about traffic laws in India.
