The vandal carved 'Ding Jinhao was here' in Chinese in the 3,500 year old Luxor Temple. This was photographed by an embarrassed Chinese traveler and shared on weibo, China's micro-blogging site on May 24. "The saddest moment in Egypt. I'm so embarrassed that I want to hide myself. I said to the Egyptian tour guide,'I'm really sorry,'" that traveler wrote on the original weibo post.

Just bc a SINGLE 15- yr old scribbed and did a bad act, why should some other chinese traveler apologize? why should the Chinese netizens get upset...

Shows one's action cannot be isolated and it is indeed a reflection on the larger society. The larger society fears the individual's action on the entire community and swings into action - apologies and condemnation and all - so that the larger community is not lambasted by the outside world.

If only ONE group took care of its own bad apples, there is no need for the rest of the world to club the entire group with the bad apples -

and you know what I am talking...don't you?

"Reading this disastrous
news this morning is heartbreaking. I despise this behavior, especially
in Egypt -- the place I love. Now, I just want to say 'Sorry' to
Egypt," commented weibo user "Net bug jing jing."

"It's a disgrace to our entire race!" said another angry micro-blogger.

This is what is called taking care of your own bad apples... Entire Race??? now that the Chinese themselves have condemned wholesale and brough shame upon the teen and his family, there is no need for outside interference...
This is what I would called the "Ding" treatment.
