It clearly shows three things.

1. NI villagers are more superstitious and primitive compared to villagers of SI. They live in dark ages.

2. The oppresssion of women in the villages of NI is horrific compared to what women in the villages of SI go through.

3. The backward castes in general still cling to their backward mentality.
