...many times these are misrepresented by the media. Manmohan Singh is listed as the most "influential" sikh in the world. Really...I would rather say he is the most powerful sikh due to the position he is holding.

Influential are the ones with no authority or position of power to enable them to accomplish. It is a power of persuasion. Teresa, Gandhi, Clinton, Pope, Khamenei are influential. they have to persuade people to follow their views as they have no authority to order them.

Sonia, MMS, etc.. should be listed as powerful which they lose once lose the authority.

hahahaha....In a world filled with sissies like MMS and Rahul Baba, everyone is a man.

He is powerful derived by his CM position and his PM candidature. Imagine if he Advani had been nominated and he had lost the Gujju elections, no one would care for him. I would say the RSS Chief and even Anna Hazare are powerful. So are all these mullahs and swamys who are visited by the powerful ones - that clearly demarcates the two traits.
