Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today described his former partner, the BJP, as 'manufacturers of lies.'

He offered his descriptor in his latest rebuttal of the party's charges that he showed little concern after a series of bombs exploded in Patna last month just before a rally by the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi.

Last week, Mr Modi assailed the Bihar Chief Minister for appearing "arrogant" after the serial explosions in which six people were killed and more than 80 injured. Mr Modi said, without naming Mr Kumar, that "they were enjoying a large meal outside Patna and appeared happy."

Mr Kumar was ready with his own set of accusations today for Mr Modi, who visited the families of some of those who died in the Patna explosions. "How many families did he visit after the 2008 blasts in Gujarat?" asked Mr Kumar today, referring to the terror attack in which nearly 50 people were people were killed and over 200 injured in Ahmedabad.

Nitish is talking not of the 2002 riots, but of the 2008 terror attack in Gujarat. It seems Modi never visited any of the families of the people who died in that attack as per what Nitish is saying.
