I think he should have waited till the media and CSA and selectors tell him to retire. I am sure no one in SA will do that. He should have consulted SRT.

These guys have the pride that comes from being matchwinner/saver many times unlike you know who.
When they can no longer be matchwinner/saver , they don't want to continue giving excuses like " It is a team game you know !".
