That the party would establish its presence in Haryana or Uttar Pradesh is a no-brainer. After all, party chief Arvind Kejriwal is from a village of Bhiwani. Psephologist, social scientist Yogender Yadav hails from Rewari.
As for Uttar Pradesh, 11 of the 23 senior leaders hail from the state.
The list includes Prashat Bhushan (Allahabad), Manish Sisodia (Hapur), Sanjay Singh (Sultanpur), Kumar Vishwas (Hapur) and Shazia Ilmi (Kanpur).

Yeah, corruption and underdevelopment is amok in that area. So it's no surprise that most of AAP leaders come from that area.

During the 1857 war of independence UP was in the forefront of the freedom struggle. Most of The Rajas and Nawabs of UP sided with the revolutionaries during 1857-1859 so much so that when the British won they destroyed all the kings who had colluded with the freedom fighters against them. Most Rajas and Nawabs in other parts of the country were allies of the British during 1857-1859. This includes the Nizam and also the Nawab of Arcot who remained loyal to the British during this period.
I can give other examples also.

For a state with a huge population, UP is a big disappointment. It really is Bimaru and mostly responsible (along with Bihar) for India's backwardness.
So, get real and stop gloating!

i agree that UP is not as industrialized as some other states but it has been seen that from time to time someone from UP has come up with ideas that the nation has accepted. For instance, the Upanisads were composed in UP. Also, Gautam Budha was born in UP (actually his place of birth in on the UP-Nepal border, on the Nepali side) ; and Budha also gave his first sermon in UP (in Sarnath which is near Benaras) and his first disciples were UPwalahs. Soon enough the nation accepted the ideas and thoughts of this great man (Budha) and he went on to attain international renown. More such examples can be given to show the intellectual leadership which UPwalahs have provided to the nation. Btw, Lord Krishna was also a UPwalah. And so was Lord Rama.
