wtf is this rip business for condolences. first of all "may she rip" sounds like may she rip at the pyre. Sagarika Ghose, who was a friend and confidante of Sunanda, says that Sunanda had told her that she is suffering from Lupus and stomach TB (gastro-intestinal TB) and she was also apparently suffering from depression. If it comes out in the post-mortem that Sunanda died from natural causes than the incident will probably be significantly less damaging to Tharoor.

People with those diseases - Lupus, GI-TB, Depression - don't die overnight suddenly in a 5-star hotel room after tweeting minutes before. All the more reason that she was "taken due care of"

there may have been other medical issues about which we don't know about.

This was followed by another tweet three minutes later in which she replied to one of her friend inquiring about her health. "will try, got so many issues diagnosed in KIMS (Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences) that now who knows when I got 2 go with joy hastay huey jayengey (will go smiling)."

the way she was talking in some of her TV interviews it appeared she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

The latest public fracas came earlier this month, when she reportedly had an ugly spat with a journalist in Dubai.

The journalist, working for the Khaleej Times, a leading English daily of the United Arab Emirates, was doing an interview of Tharoor at a private dinner party on January 9 when the incident reportedly took place.

According to the Khaleej Times, the journalist was interviewing Tharoor after a prior appointment arranged by a public relations firm when Pushkar barged in and sought an end to the interview.

"You really need to stop this!" she was quoted as saying, referring to the interview that her husband was giving.

"This is why I hate the media," she reportedly screamed at the reporter. "I have thrown liquor at Arnab Goswami (a leading Indian television anchor). You think I can't do that to you?"

According to the Khaleej Times report, Tharoor was taken by surprise and quickly slipped into the shadows.

"The normally unflappable minister seemed lost for words, the outburst from Sunanda — heard by all within earshot — catching him clearly by surprise. The embarrassed minister, his charm rapidly fading, slipped into the shadows," the report said.

Tharoor is a smooth talking CONman. Sunanda may be hurt that she married a jerk who says one thing and does something else.

She may be very depressed and perhaps, decided to end her life.

However, I don't trust Tharoor. He is a real CONartist.

She probably did take her own life. But they are caught between a rock and a hard place regarding that. If they say she didn't and list her cause of death as unknown, it will have all kinds of conspiracy theorists clamoring. If they do say it was a suicide, it will make Tharoor look like the jerk he is. Interestingly auto-correct suggests Lothario for Tharoor.

I think Tharoor or his party decided enough is enough and had her liquidated to do damage control. This was very swift action. Her tweets over the last few days of her sad life will now be brushed off as the ramblings of an unhinged woman.

i was observing the fight between Sunanda and Mehr on twitter in real time and at one point was inclined to butt in and slam Sunanda for being crude and undignified and also praise Mehr for being gracious. Thank God i didn't do it otherwise i would have forever experienced guilt. i had no idea Sunanda was almost on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

On the CNN-IBN channel Sagarika Ghose, a friend of Sunanda, said that Sunanda had informed her that she had seen a blackberry message exchange between Mehr and Tharoor in which Tharoor had said he would leave Sunanda after the general elections and have a 'permanent relationship' with Mehr. Sunanda had also told Sagarika that she is suffering from various ailments including Lupus and stomach TB. Even in her twitter feed, Sunanda had said that she has been diagnosed with all kinds of ailments. She was also said to have been suffering from depression.

This could have been death due to natural causes, or death due to suicide, or death due to murder. The murder angle comes into play because she had talked about the IPL affair and had threatened to talk more. in the event that the underworld is involved in the IPL in any way--as is alleged by some--they could have bumped her off.

another thing to note: Narendra Modi had called Sunanda a 50 crore girlfriend so i doubt Modi or anyone else in the Congress will bring up this issue to slam Tharoor or the Congress.

when i first heard of the tharoor marriage, i felt that he was marrying someone to finance his campaigns. tharoor is one of those guys - you take a look at him and you know he sits on the toilet seat and fantasizes and prob thinks of himself as a cut above other people intellectually - a poet, a politician, a romantic, shakespeare theater actor. He needed someone practical and hard-working and wealthy. Sunanda may not have had the gift of gab, the upper class education that he had but this was a woman running a business and raising a son after her husband passed away. It is likely she was simple and straightfoward in her personal relationships and she was very hurt. she should never have fallen for a guy like this, a dandy with silky hair flopping over his forehead. He had sophistication and very average smarts but one has to also be kind and good in order to make a marriage work and it doesn't seem like this guy had that. In the best marriages people show empathy towards each other.

oh, because i think that a woman of her background, age and situation in life should kick her cheating husband out of her life and move on if she couldn't deal with his extra-curricular activites. i can't understand why she should get so damn depressed, make a public drama and finally take her own life. he will forever be scarred by this alright but i think it is such a waste to destroy and 'sacrifice' herself for an errant husband.
