Father Murthy finally behaves like a true Desi father.
....Outlining a broad set of initiatives that the company had taken in the past year to secure its future — automation in software development, measurement of productivity of engineers, returning to a technical core, recognizing young leaders, focusing on education and bringing a culture of innovation – Murthy said each one of these initiatives were “conceived, implemented and pushed forward” by his son Rohan.
Perhaps He now regrets that he should have got a PhD for his son from Stanford - or at least Cornell an not from #20 Harvard.

Why did murthy leave? Was he asked to leave? Why did all those exec leave? What is so unusual about an Indian Ceo pushing his son? It happens in almost every company. Even the tata s push their parsi family members.

Infy was started as a professional orgnization and the founders were taking over one by one, with Murthy lecturing on age limit etc.. If he had taken over and not brought in his SON, things might have been fine. Other founders have sons and daughters too... Son Rohan is married into the Amalgamation group and naturally, the Murthy has changed colors. I will be surprised if other founders - who are also share holders - did not have anything to do with the rumblings. The way the "board" brought in a naaarthi guy who has never worked in India and has not lived in India for 20+ years shows they did not like Murthy and his attempt to hoist his son. The fact that when Kiran Mazumdar praised Rohan, senior execs commented on her inappropriateness showed the rift. Now, Murthy DEFENDING his son and giving all credits to his son CLEARLY shows he is hurt by comments about Rohan and very hurt that his son has been shafted by the board. Why is his son also quitting ?
The board is sure that this Sikka dude wont last for more than 2 to 3 years (working from California????..yeah rite...they can hire me for 1/10 th salary and I will do a better job), but it will give them time to reshuffle the deck enough to shunt out Murthy influence.
I sold my Infy stocks....not happening.

Sikka is going to run it from Kalifornia? That means he is not serious. I worked for a VP who used to commute from another city. he flew in when required and went to customer locations. Did not work out well.

Other companies are owned by the dads / unkils, so nepotism is acceptable. Murthy incl family own less than 4% of Infy. Foisting a son was really pathetic corporate governance for someone who's always been holier than thou and made much show of his commitment to shareholder interests, integrity etc.
