Merut Gangrape - Amit Shah...where are you ?

The 20-year-old girl who used to teach Hindi and English in a madrasa in Kharkhaunda near Meerut, was reportedly kidnapped on 23 July and taken to a madrasa in Hapur, gangraped, and forced to convert to Islam. She was also shifted to madrasas in Garh Mukteshwar, Deoband and Muzaffarnagar, when she managed to escape and contact her family members.....

In her statement to the police, the woman has levelled some explosive allegations on those running the madrasas, saying that about 50 other girls were also in captivity, and the perpetrators were planning to send them to Saudi Arabia and Dubai under their changed Muslim identities. She also alleged that she had been operated upon for some unknown reason after being sedated, and some reports said a preliminary investigation found that her fallopian tubes had been removed and she may not be able to bear any children in the future.

Madam Mohan Singh SEVERELY Condemned the Delhi Bus Rape... the effect was so useless, gangrapes have skyrocketted...add to that the gangrape, Conversion, and exporting them to Allahland.

I am surprised the girls' families allowed them to work in a Madrassa. Shocked

The Meerut I know, atleast of 20 years ago, Hindu families won't even let their girls to the house of a muslim best friend, even if they have been friends since pre-k (the friend would be allowed to visit though). Only exceptions were weddings, in which the girl would be accompanied by an army of older women.

Had heard too many cases of a muslim friend's brother raping the hindu girl, sometimes aided by the friend herself. Some relative of mine had done counseling of such victims, and most stories were horrifying, and hence such a deep general distrust.

Things much have changed now for them to even consider working in a place like this. But looks like they didn't.

Dunno, there used to be a lot of bad blood between the two communities there. People I know would do armed neighborhood watches whenever things got tensed. You enter each other's community in those times, you get killed. No questions asked.

Max, you have learned enough to feel for general women issues like violence, education and general progress. You have brought up the fact about being father of two girls when commenting on various issues and how that affect you more coz of the fact. And most likely you are not a sexist on a daily basis.

What you have not yet learned, or maybe you won't in this lifetime, is to not make gender jokes on men either, calling them feminine, etc., that may take a couple more generations, now that people have begun objecting to it. I need to learn it myself actually. Like I once laughed when I saw a pic of an apparently straight ~~guy~~ 40+ yo uncle, wearing pink or red or purple denims. But then I checked myself.

Also addressing a woman as 'woman' when trying to put her down. Sounds rude, no?

Also, I want to be clear. From what I remember, and I could be wrong, haven't you questioned Luke's parenting regarding teaching his kids Hindi. Is that kind of jibe regarding family ok?

Can be gender-neutral rude. Easier to preach though. I myself resorted to sds type jokes once on this forum (I hope I did it just once). I obviously am partial to speaking out more when women are insulted that way. Trying to be fair all the time is hard. But like you said, we all are human, etc. My issues being weight, acne, hair, gray hair, etc.

In other words,talking about family is Ok if it makes the poster appear to be a gentle,caring,sensitive and progressive person.
But not if it appears to portray the person as an MCP.

It's like someone asks the emperor, "How can a family man like you come out in public like this?" and the emperor gets all outraged about the reference to his family, trying to deflect attention off his new clothes. But everyone except the emperor knows such deflection is not working. The secularism, liberalism, feminism of the sickulars are like the emperor's new clothes when it comes to hate/communal crimes by Muslims - non-existent.

i'll give you a straight reply to this one. it is my opinion that islam is deeply troubled and needs to undergo internal reform, of the kind that christianity went through millenia ago to rid itself of its violent tendencies and to learn to get away from a literal interpretation of its textual sources.

having said that, i also believe there is a sustained and deliberate agenda in india by the hindutva-vadis to desperately connect indian muslims to global terrorism. with the lone exception of the dawood ibrahim gang which really started as a criminal enterprise, to date this effort has brought exactly zero returns. you will therefore understand why i don't feel compelled to jump up and down every time someone posts about some outrage committed by an indian muslim. there are plenty of such things going on all over india by lots of other communities. the newspapers are full of them.
