heartening to know that there are judges who cannot be bought.

Kudos Michael Cunha for upholding justice.

There is no way anyone can explain how with an earning of 60 rs for 5 years she has amassed 60+ crores in 5 years without misusing her powers..

I am waiting eagerly for the Post-MK sans Kani period and the Maha-like situation in TN. Will the non-DK parties get a break?

Eradicating corruption from politicians in India is like desalinating the ocean.

MK has amassed ten times JJ's wealth, yet free. When will he face his day of reckoning?

non-DK local parties if any should get a break. i am wary of the congress and the BJP stepping in to fill the lacuna. that comes with the threat of slow hindi insertion.

i hope MK and his thuggish gang get their comeuppance too, but when you are stopped by a cop for speeding, an argument that the guy in the next lane was going even faster than you is no defence.

The real problem in India (not just TN) is sikular corruption. DKheads are just a local example of a national disease. Every state has big players in this arena. Jagan in AP made more money than K'nidhi and his gang and is roaming around as though he is going to save AP. Laloo is somewhat a lower level crook but he is behaving like a national leader. Mulayam  is a cancer for UP society but he is pretending to be the PM in waiting. The Thakerays in Maharashtra are thugs who set the agenda for their state. KCR and his kids are other very clever crooks who do anything in their self-interest.

Core values of society need to be re-established. Otherwise, a society that undermines morals and ethics won't prosper for long.

And as expected- sooner than later, Ms. Jayalalitha is out on bail. And the next chapter of her life begins. She is not done or out..only position titles may change.

Funny to see only some names of politicians are "selectively" being mentioned here as "deserving jail" while others are excluded based on one's own affection for parties and persons! When it comes to corruption- it seems to be only a matter of degree..some are more corrupt than others.

Speaking of values..interesting to see besides politicians..there are plenty of people (even in the expanding middle class) in TN who seem to be doing financially very well..the stores and sales are booming-overflowing with customers..they seem to be purchasing all the e-gadgets and cars/vehicles..far more easily than even people here! Even with socialized medicine and all the options available..the Medicine "Business" is making huge profits..franchises are available for OB, Eye Care, Dental clinics (to name a few) with all the modern technology- best equipment and with quite good care..money rules..core values may change when the "value" of people..is measured differently- modest living is appreciated and success is defined not just by assets and earning potential.

Anyways..never a dull moment in TN politics!

One of the comments in Hindu about this..

This validates the Warren Buffet famous quote.".The only' golden rule' in survival is the rule made by one who has the' Gold'...."

I find it interesting that you have not mentioned the one possible exception to the herd of corrupt politicians you have named.

btw, are you envious of the earning capacity of doctors practicing medicine in India?
