Bifurcation of AP to create Telangana leads to more problems for Telangana, in the long run.

The people of coastal Andhra are already expressing some relief that Telangana is separated. The future can only be better for AP as the towns and cities that have been neglected since 1956, will be paid attention to. The revenue picture in AP for the last 3 months looks brighter than it was before the bifurcation (an increase of 13%). However, Hyderabad is already seeing a reduction in its revenue. The special status that Hyderabad enjoyed in the united state will be eroded. Polavaram will be a boon for AP as it will check-mate any attempts by KCR to starve the Krishna delta of water. The inflow of water from Sabari and Sileru into Godavari is significant for AP and Telangana can't use the upstream Godavari water without using lift irrigation methods (which is a power guzzler - and Telangana is power starved). So, AP won't be that worried about Godavari. However, many districts in Telangana are heavily dependent on Godavari. If Maharashtra closes the gates on Godavari, it will have significant impact on agriculture, even if lift irrigation is used (the land is on a higher plateau and canal irrigation doesn't work). So, water and power problems will become chronic for Telangana and Hyderabad.

Here is an example of what is in store for Hyderabad:
