i don't like anonymous forums. i prefer real stuff now. it is also true that most posters in this board (those left) know the personal info of posters (those left). their obsession on privacy smacks of utter hypocrisy. as THE TS would say, hata savan ki ghata. but i am wrong because there exists MISTRUST here and people are scared of losing their jobs (by BLACKMAIL). horrible cesspool to be in.

Only a person with his own business would have no issues with participating in a forum with real names. A person with a salaried job would not wish to join a free for all forum where discussions and debates can become heated and even abusive using his real name. To that extent I am opposed to your view on privacy. Not everybody here is a businessman.

Having said that I am opposed to Panini insisting on giving only himself programmatic protection so that one cannot type his name or place of work in a forum post. So a person like FF has to keep begging Panini to remove his purported real name in a forum post featuring this information. I have speculated that Panini probably gets a kick out of people begging him for help otherwise the straightforward approach is to give programmatic protection to any person who has appealed for help ( related to removal of his purported real name from a forum post) on a single occasion. The straightforward approach would incidentally make Panini's job easier and also there is no time lag from the time the privacy was compromised to when Panini edited out the information.

This forum has never banned a poster, and we don't have a mechanism to ban posters. Posters who have had long-running fights with forum admin are active members of the community. In fact, many privacy violations were directed at the forum admin, but even those frequent violations did not result in a ban of the violators. In that respect, this is very much different from moderated forums. There is just one reason for posts to be deleted here, and it is clearly publicized: violating the privacy of another poster.

not true. there is something called trust and camaderie. in our school friends whatsapp group we all know each other personally. but no one fears the repercussions that you are afraid of despite the fact that one of the participant is a TMC figure (muslim) and we slam TMC continually and he has threatened us with action. he has not taken any action. but that is because my group is that of friends -- not so here. so i have to concede. however, now that i have a choice (did not have earlier), i'd rather be there than here.

You may as well add that this newfound love for privacy of posters only developed after your privacy started being compromised by FF in forum posts after you looked the other way indulgently when FF's privacy was being compromised repeatedly by others on this forum.

Also, you are only prepared to give programmatic protection to yourself but not to others--thus permitting a time lag from the time when the privacy is compromised to when you edit out the information. FF's privacy has been compromised on numerous occasions now but you continue to deny him programmatic protection--insisting that he beg you for help whenever his privacy is compromised in a forum post.
