IPL and Twenty20 are a roaring success with money pouring in. Now big money and corporates are involved. Not much will be done to take away IPL's primacy.

But from a schedule point of view and player fitness point of view demanding IPL proved to be a national disaster.

Players of the caliber as Sachin were finding it tough. Sachin looks to have lost his desire to perform well at test level. Raina hit rock bottom and Dhoni is performing like he is going to office. Gambhir and Sehwag did not show any respect for Test level cricket.

India needs to rethink schedules, and player match allocation to come up with decent performance in all forms.

India also needs to do something about bowling and fielding. India does not have spin bowlers, fast bowlers, and swing bowlers. What kind of tean would that be? They should set up certain venues as Fast pitches and some as swing pitches. That will bowlers and give batsmen to experience what they will face in other countries. May be they should import young bowlers from other countries to play in local tournaments. India got the money. They can change the situation and come back.

Batting will take care of itself if India focuses on bowling and fielding.

IPL is entertainment. IPL is good for cricket*. but too much of IPL is just plain bad. they should not have added two more teams to the pool. and going forward they should alter the format so that it gets over in just about a month or less. 6-8 weeks is boring and is bad for the players. they can form two groups and minimize the number of matches played.

* IPL riches can make youngsters from countries such as WI, NZ think of playing cricket again. that will only help strengthening these squads which is good for cricket.
