Eggs and bacon...my kids's favorite. in answer to your question, younger still waiting to hear from a couple of colleges.I am trying to convince him to go a junior college anf transfer in a couple of years. older wrote to some grad schools with very lukewarm interest. your alma mater wants him. lets see..i need to get ready for the school bills at least for the next couple of years. is your older coming to the States?

that is good news kris. you can afford it -- put older through columbia (it's worth it). younger still needs time. hope gen y outshines us! inshallah!

My 2 cents:
1. If your kid has any plans for a professional degree after the UG, then avoid Junior colleges.
2. Try to avoid transferring universities - unless there is a real compelling reason (consulting fee $250).
3. Why lukewarm interest from Grad school ? If Columbia wants him, others should want him as well - of course, I don't know his major. I am sure he can get his own student loan for his grad school.
Finally, can one call his University as Alma mater even though he did not complete a degree ?

The younger may go the MBA route. will probably get in becuase of his street/ business savvy. Neither is big on academics. the older was of the opinion thar grad school is something you do in your late 20s. he applied only to a few. he got in i think because of his recommendations and sample works he submitted. He seems favorably inclined because of the school's reoutation. a loan scenario will put a damper on it. he will be meeting with them soon. so far,so good.

i don't know. did not grow up with it, and never could develop a taste for the flesh of an animal that roots around in human excrement given the opportunity.
dinner yesterday -- salade nicoise with seared rare tuna and deviled eggs. went down nicely with a nice sangiovese.
