A Seattle city councilwoman born in India has faced "hundreds of angry emails and phone calls, some telling her to kill herself" in recent days following a rally she organized to protest President-elect Donald Trump’s victory, according to KCPQ, the Fox affiliate in Seattle.

Councilwoman Kshama Sawant reportedly received the threats via phone and email after video of an anti-Trump protest she organized went viral last week.

“Go back to India bitch,” one email read. “I am tired of being shamed because I’m a white male. You automatically think I’m a racist. How about you go the (expletive) back to India or wherever you came from?”
