TN was suffering from lack of cauvery water resulting in drought and hopes for the samba plantation. Now there are incessant rains and flooding for 1 week destroying the weak kuruvai crop as well. The reason being unplanned development and blocking/destroying drainage canals.

water management and agriculture is such an advanced, important field with 2000 yr development, and looks like it is losing to "construction" and "financial" sectors.
