I look in the mirror
and what do i see?
this person i do not recognize
yet she looks strangely familiar

i know her
her dreams, her aspirations
her strengths, her weaknesses
her secrets, her fears

i know that she wants to
be loved, cherished
adored and protected
protected from
heart aches, heart breaks
deceit and betrayal

i know she waits
for a prince charming
on a white steed and
an armour that shines

she waits ever so patiently
i know she wants to be loved
more than anything in this world

but,
how can she be loved when she does not love her self?
