nothing like Indians
scene 1: a desi family goes to india for vacation. One of the kids' [non indian] friends wanted to go too. So the two friends were tagged along. For 2-3 weeks. When they come back, the two sets of parents picked their girls from the airport, and ta-ta bye-bye. The desi family took the cab back as pre-planned.
scene 2: a desi family goes to six flags. One of the kids' [desi] friends wanted to go too. So the friend was tagged along. When they returned, the desi mom had made the dinner ready for the family, and called and insisted that they eat nowhere else. Not just the family, they treated another family's kids too who happened to be with them.
In scene 1, if it were desi families instead, they would have accommodated the family between the two vans, and treated them a good breakfast and/or lunch too. Or at least offered in full earnest.
That's what I think. Whaddaya think?

Re: nothing like Indians
The desi family in scenario #1 already treated well the non-indian friend of their kid. They took the kid's friend to India, showed her the places and made sure the girl was safe. What more should they do?
After a tiresome 22 hour trip back from India which includes waiting at the airport lounges, standing in lines for security check, horrible food served on the plane plus not having a bath for a day, the last thing you want to have is to entertain visitors in your home.
There comes a point when you say enough.

Re: nothing like Indians
you read it wrong, i meant if the other girls' families were desi instead of non desis, they would have done all that for the desi families, i.e. given them a ride home, and treated them b/f to make their return more comfortable.

"goes to india on vacation" instead of "...for vacation";
"the friend tags along" instead of "...was tagged along";
"when they come back, the parents pick up their girls from the airport" instead of "...picked their girls from the airport," and other tense changes too numerous to list;
"treated them to a good breakfast," not "treated them a good breakfast"
"offered it to them in full earnest," instead of "offered in full earnest."
what on earth does "accommodated the family between the two vans" mean?
i also think that you should write in northindian, not english.

Re: nothing like Indians
Americans will help you as long it is of no cost to them...Indians will do anything to please whites or other foreigners considered to be from a higher class than themselves.

Re: nothing like Indians
First scenario: If it were Indians, they'd have def'ly arranged for the transportation of the family coming back from India to their home. It's the minimum they'd have done.
