India has the largest population of humans wearing hats, according to a recent study conducted by Terry Merry Bhankas. Scientists at TMB scoured countless messages, posts, statuses, tweets and comments on online forums and social networking sites in an intense 30-minute study. “You see our citizens taking their hats off at the drop of a hat, hahaha, hahaha, excuse me, these days,” said Merry Bhankas, a budding scientist at TMB, quite content with her own attempt at humor.

“They not only take theirs but insist on others taking their hat off in appreciation of heroics. Kohli effected a run-out? Here comes off their hat. Nana Patekar condemned Sanjay Dutt? Hats off! Katju allowed himself a smile? Hats off!!” added Terry Bhankas, another budding scientist. “Indians are buying hats not for fashion or for protection from the sun, but only to take them off repeatedly and this has resulted in India being the largest consumer of hats,” concluded Terry Bhankas.
