Re: too good at goodbyes
Never ever say Good Bye.
Its not in Indian Culture.
We always say - "Jaa Ke Aataa Hoon", "Laters".
There is NO Hindi equivalent of Good-Bye.
There is no equivalent of the word "Religion" as well in India.
One must realize that Western civilization is uncivilized in evolution.

Re: too good at goodbyes
the fallacy in this logic is that everything in indian culture is a-perfect.
goodbye is a pretty strong sentiment. no wonder desis are so pathetic when they split. leaving w/o a word, crying, tearing clothes, declaring each other as forever enemies, forever bad mouthing, never at peace, never moving on. The closest they get to saying goodbye to a living person is - 'u are as good as dead to me now'. Instead they can just pick up and say a graceful goodbye, and get a closure and move on.
PS: the song above was just something i liked as a concept. While I have had to say too many goodbyes, i don't think i got any better at it ... i never let myself get so cold that i cry less and less at every heartbreak. Nope, I go through a full gamut of a friendship/relationship. Giving it my all, fully trusting, and if it doesn't go well, then go through a full period of mourning. To me, that's saving my innocence. I hope i am not a cold person now. Careful, yes. Bitter, no.

I read long ago that the word / phrase "Goodbye" evolved from the parting words "God be with you", a kind of a well meaning wish during parting and going different ways.t w wrote:the fallacy in this logic is that everything in indian culture is a-perfect.
